Jerry Samargia: Co-Founder, Minneapolis
Jerry is a founding partner of the firm and has decades of experience in campaign strategy, direct contact and grassroots mobilization, development, and corporate and political consulting.
In both 2008 and 2012, Jerry served as the lead direct contact strategist for President Barack Obama’s campaigns. In both elections, Jerry worked very closely with the Obama data and analytics teams to help build predictive models and to create a national and battleground states direct contact strategy that helped to persuade voters to vote for Barack Obama and turn out on his behalf.
Previous to joining New Partners, Jerry worked at Meyer Teleservices from 2004 to 2009 where he advised dozens of corporations, campaigns and organizations in the science and art of movement building, persuasion marketing and grassroots mobilization.
Jerry has been a leading strategist in Minnesota politics for more than 20 years, including previously managing the Minnesota coordinated campaign during Senator Paul Wellstone’s re-election campaign in 2002 – the nation’s most highly targeted race and the largest coordinated campaign in state history.
Craig Schirmer: Co-Founder, Los Angeles
Craig is a co-founder of New Partners and brings more than two decades of experience at designing winning strategies and solving problems for clients locally and nationally.
Craig counsels political candidates, corporations, entertainment and sports entities and non-profits on strategy, grass roots activations, coalition building, communications strategies, and brand positioning.
He has worked on dozens of political campaigns nationally – including five presidential campaigns. In 2008, Craig played a leading role in the election of President Barack Obama, helping to design the campaign’s grassroots strategy that produced historic volunteer participation and record voter turnout. In addition he has served as a strategist for former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles; Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer; Vice President Al Gore’s presidential race; the late Senator Edward M. Kennedy’s campaign and has advised scores of local, statewide and ballot initiative campaigns.
In addition to his political work, Craig has worked with sports leagues, professional sports teams, trade associations and technology and entertainment companies.
